Inverted Siphon Installed Using HDD
Directional Drilling (December 2004) - Last December, design engineers with Dudek & Associates had a challenging project on their desks. They needed to figure out a way to get wastewater from the northern section of the Valley Sanitary District (VSD) in Riverside County, Calif., to the southern section where the existing treatment plant is located without the use of a pump station and have the design, environmental review, permitting and construction completed in less than 12 months.

Massachusetts Siting Board Issues Draft Decision Approving Request for Major Underground Transmission Line
Transmission & Distribution (December 27, 2004) - Clearing the way for a pivotal upgrade to New England's critical electric infrastructure, the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board last week tentatively approved NSTAR's request to build a new, 18-mile underground transmission line. With construction slated to begin in early 2005, the new line is scheduled to be in service by summer of 2006, when the region's electric demand is expected to be higher than ever.

California Commission Approves Accelerated Construction of Key Transmission Line
Transmission & Distribution (December 28, 2004) - The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved San Diego Gas & Electric’s (SDG&E) proposal to accelerate construction of a key transmission line to try to put it in service by September 2005--or sooner, if possible--to help avert potential electricity supply shortages and reduce energy costs for consumers.
